Miraculous! That is what I have come to believe life is. There is something bubbling on earth right now. As you read this, as I was writing this, I categorically know that I am not the only one to feel this way. I also know that unless we harness these miracles and give them structure and direction, they will lose their magic and be easily overwhelmed by the equally huge surge of anger, greed, hatred and discontent that is being seen all over the world. You see, anger has been given voice, greed has been fed, hatred has been grown and discontent is constantly brewing in all areas of the world. Discontent in the richer and more apathetic first world and discontent in the unenviable poverty and strife torn areas of the third world.
This is the start of a new paradigm, the beginning of a new era. A piece of history is about to be written. A story we all need to write.
Do you feel the urge to help wherever possible? Are you feeling a longing that aches in your heart and feels like a physical pain for which you have no prescription? Are you wanting to help where you can not? Do you feel an overwhelming desire to be useful, to be of substance, to leave a legacy, to do good?
This is a feeling that a lot of women are experiencing, everyday, along with the usual feelings of inadequacy, guilt, invisibility and inaction.
Can we keep this up and expect the world to change in our favor? No. Can we keep this up and expect the world to change in favor of our daughters, certainly not.
Why? Because we are all slightly jaded by the state of the world as it is. We hazily recall the salad days. We remember with clarity the days when the world was in plenty for the western world. We are hastily trying to forget how the hardships the past few years of austerity, turbulent uprising and environmental disasters have impacted us all and left us with the remnants of the past barely visible and yet no clear vision for the future.
The strange thing is, though, that our survival is now paramount. Whether that is personal survival or the survival of our family, we still have an overwhelming lack of security. Most of us are striving to get richer, thinner, happier, more successful and, my personal favorite, more famous!
I don’t mean more famous in the most obvious way. Although ‘Celebrity’ has never featured higher in society than it does today. I do mean visible, though. We are all earnest in our quest to be visible for something, Visible in service, Visible in character, Visible in strength. Whatever visibility is for you.
I know that some of you will be recoiling at this. I know that it will be a hard pill to swallow so I would like to sugar coat this straight away.
We all strive for recognition. Whether this is on an hourly or daily basis or whether it is a lifetime ambition. We all love to be recognized. In this I hold my hand up. When I was singing as a young woman my best friend asked me why I didn’t try to be more successful. ‘Because I don’t want to be recognized and lose my freedom’ was my answer.
I had enough recognition playing in my hometown for that part of my life. This was my visibility shield and I was content.
I became a slave to my visibility over the next ten to fifteen years until one of my lovely business advisors, advised me that all of my good intentions and well-placed plans to start a Global Responsible Community would come to nothing unless I was willing to step out and be visible, be well-known. This would be the only way I would be able to do what I really wanted to do in the world. To achieve what I wanted to achieve in life and to give freely of my gifts, to be recognized and feel useful.
So, my first offering to you is that you need to get used to being visible. I will make it easier as we go along and I shall hold your hand.
This is where the powerful stuff begins and why visibility plays such an important part in moving into the new paradigm.
I also need you to hold my hand! Really? You call that leadership?
Yes. I know that we have to do things a little differently and that unless we get over our fears and our faults we will never be able to gently steer the world into the paradigm that will benefit our future generations.
We need to work together and we need to be brave. If we can be authentic in our fears and faults we can only be unbreakable in the face of adverse action and reactions. I am still finding it hard to be completely truthful in all of the mistakes I have made in life. If I am to be honest, I lived a shadow of my personal, dreaming, warrioress, explorer, performing, singing, traveling personality for a very long time. But I never stopped learning and I know that neither did you.
But I want it all now. I know you want it all, too.
I have made some of the biggest mistakes in life, that will make yours look tiny. I have had the most extreme personal hardships in life and the only explanation I have for having them is that I am meant to share my stories so that others can learn without having to experience them.
I am so fortunate that I have had the gifts of time, money and universal education to help me put this system together for a reason.
I am willing to put myself in the line of fire, with my invisible (but highly decorated and beautiful) spear by my side. My heart of courage borrowed from the memory of Emmeline Pankhurst, my poise borrowed from Aung San Su Kyi, my determination from our future children and my love stoked by the fire of us all, working together, for our future, for the planets future, for the women of the world, wherever they may be – to forge a New Paradigm of Oneness that can only be created by the emergence of Feminine Leaders united in doing what is right for our planet and our people.
