I am a woman
I’m here to explore
To find deepest meaning
And feel to the core
I may not be perfect but try to be kind
Find solutions to problems, I’ll seek till I find
I am a woman
I’m strong and I’m weak
And balance is finding where disparity meets
I know I have answers to questions you ask
And if you deign to respect that I shall reveal what is masked
I am a woman
My heart on my sleeve
Sometimes for muscle, sometimes care that you need
I try to be gracious in every way
But if injustice is present I shall fight to defend
I am a woman
I’m beauty, I’m rage
Regardless my culture, my beliefs or my age
I’m worthy, responsible, earnest, sincere
I’ll blow my own trumpet and lend you my ear
I am a woman
Tempted by lust
For kindness, compassion, for what’s right and just
Purpose and passion, prosperity too
I believe in abundance for me and for you
I am a woman
In form and in spirit
So do not be fooled to not see the strength in it
I’ll walk my path fiercely and live my life well
And if you don’t like my ways you can just go to hell
I am a woman
And my time is now
To speak, to be heard to be seen, set the stage
For all of the girls who are coming to be
A wonderful woman

Courageous, demure
Incredibly proud of the girl who has come
Through the trauma, the challenges and cruelty life’s thrown
I’ve suffered, I’ve made it and have a great life to own
I am a woman
Maybe older, but wise
As there’s no doubt you change when you’ve seen through these eyes
I’ve chosen to live life, to sing and to dance
And if that disappoints you
Well, you can just kiss my ass
